Soft Tones, Sharp Lines

LONDON, UK

IN PLANNING

RESIDENTIAL

This 300 sqm duplex is located in the heart of Central London and underwent a comprehensive refurbishment focused on enhancing the interiors through bespoke design solutions. Given the constraints of the existing structure, the approach centered on refinishing surfaces, introducing custom joinery, reimagining lighting, and refining spatial details to match the client's lifestyle and preferences. The upper level hosts an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen space, while the lower floor accommodates two ensuite bedrooms.

The same fluted green timber detailing used in the joinery continues along the end of the corridor, visually anchoring the space. This material palette is echoed in the entrance console and built-in shelves, creating a consistent narrative. Small vertical LED strips run down the surfaces like a waterfall, introducing soft illumination and enhancing the texture.

In the entrance area, we designed a seamless built-in shelving unit that cleverly conceals a door, offering discreet access to under-stair storage. This joinery piece adds both visual interest and practicality without interrupting the clean lines of the interior.

One of the original bedrooms was transformed into a refined office space. As the client is the owner of 42 Holborn restaurant, we subtly incorporated the brand identity into the space with a custom-designed shelf and logo feature wall. The joinery includes a bespoke desk and integrated kitchen unit, maintaining the language of clean lines and understated sophistication.

The master bedroom was reconfigured to include a full-height wardrobe with smoked glass doors, open shelving, and soft integrated lighting. The design offers a boutique-like display of clothing and accessories while maintaining privacy and elegance, in line with the client’s preference for linear, ambient lighting and minimalist functionality.
